Pakistan's military said more than 71 militants were killed during a series of security operations conducted across several areas of Balochistan over a period of 96 hours. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, the operations included an initial action in the Shaban area near Quetta and Ziarat, followed by further operations in the same area, as well as separate actions in Nushki and Mand in Kech district. ISPR said 33 militants were killed during the initial Shaban operation, while another 23 were killed during subsequent clearance operations. Eleven militants were reportedly killed in Nushki and six in Mand. The military said security forces also recovered weapons, ammunition and explosives from militant positions. According to the official account, the operations were launched following intelligence-based information and were aimed at preventing attacks and dismantling militant hideouts. ISPR said clearance operations were continuing in some areas to ensure that remaining threats were eliminated. The reported casualty figures are based on the military's official statement and have not been independently verified. The developments come amid continued security operations in different parts of Balochistan following a series of militant attacks and counterterrorism actions in the province.
